BRIEF HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF P.O.S.E.N.I. SINCE ITS ESTABLISHMENT AND UNTIL TODAY

1992 - September:   The petition for the establishment of  the “Secondary Housing Co-operative”  in the Community of MILATOS, Lassithi, Crete is submitted by the traders interested.

1993 - February:  An invitation for participation of any interested parties is published in the press (EXRES – ESTIA – ANATOLI).

        - April:  The Temporary Administrative Committe (D. Bakindas - E. Koumandakis - E. Tsachaki - D. Zoudianos) is elected.
        - September:  Submission  of the proposed charter of the 532 members to the Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works in order to approve the establishment of  P.O.S.E.N.I. at the locations  “NISSA”  and  “AGORASTI”, MILATOS Community. Attached were the minutes of the MILATOS Community Council meeting (during which it was unanimously decided in favor of the establishment of a Housing Co-operative that is also approved by the Prefecture of Lassithi) and the report on the feasibility and the residential appropriateness issued by the Lassithi Urban Planning Department.

1995 - July  The General Directorate of Urban Planning and the Directorate of Policy Planning, Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works pre-approves the construction of Secondary Residences of Co-operative Ownership  in the Community of MILATOS.
        - November:  Also, the Directorate of Housing Planning approves our charter.

1996 - January:  The P.O.S.E.N.I. General Assembly members elects their first Administrative Council (D. Bakintas – E. Koumantakis – E. Tsachaki – A. Karapidakis - G. Vasilakis) and their first Supervisory Council (E. Vasileiadis – I. Fotaki – A. Doulgerakis).
          - March:  The General Assembly members approve the establishment of the Co-operative in a land of 600 decares acquired at the locations of “NISSA” – “AGORASTI” – “KLIMA” – “SKLIVALOU METOCHI” – “ANDRONIKOS”  -  “GONIA”  - “KAKO PLAI” and “KAMINIA”.
          - APRIL:  The P.O.S.E.N.I. Administrative Council assigned the  land surveying of our property to the Rural and Surveying Engineer  Mr Ioannis Katergiannakis.

1997 - February:  The General Directorate of Urban Planning, Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works sends its pre-approval regarding the geological - geotechnical appropriateness of our property. The 13^th  Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities, Region of Crete  assures us that there are not any Byzantine monuments in the area.
         - August:  The 24th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, General Directorate of Antiquities, Hellenic Ministry of Culture assures us that our  property is located outside the archaeological sites of MILATOS and SISSI.
