Dear members,
With reference to our optimistic letter of 12/02/2010, regarding the evolution of cooperative licensing, after taking the initiative to visit the Ministry with presidents of other cooperatives and members of the ruling party, where Mr. Moraitis promised for a three or five-member committee to review the files quickly and adopt them without many procedures in case we fulfil the conditions (which we do), we regret to inform you that this has not happened yet.
However, with great effort and many visits to the relevant Department of the Ministry, visits to relevant officials and special aid of cretan MP Mrs Skrafnaki Maria, her PA Mr. George Bakos and our member Mr. Diogenes Bakintas who is well aware of the issues of the Ministry of the Environment as he has faced them in the past, we managed to overcome the “relevance” impediment and forward the file to the legal department of the Ministry for the review of our contracts. As you can imagine there will be another battle at this point to complete the control quickly enough in order to have the new o.k. for the urban design. Unfortunately, we have to do it all over again and we have to struggle, because, as we have been told by our lobbying contacts, long time is needed to gain the approval.
We can not determine the time needed, because we have lost all confidence in the promises of the Ministry. But we assure you that we will fight as much as possible with the help of the MP who shows great interest. We still believe we will move as quickly as possible in order to reach a point to finally be able to share our ground.
We must also tell you that after the last checks, the Ministry ordered that 150 acres of the total land for urbanization should be removed (that is 150 shares) in order for the urban area to be 500 instead of 647 acres.

With repeated visits to the Ministry and lobbying, we managed to reduce the deducted acres to 24 only (13 shares and public areas the rest).
After this action, the Ministry suggested the land of each shareholder to be 490 m2 instead of 500 m2 in order to cover the 13 missing.
To inform you about the progress of the Association from its establishment (which most of you do not know), the previous Boards of our Association had managed to get approval for “relevance” (year 2000) and urban design consultation (year 2002). However, in 2004 the government through its minister raised the PERPO issue (special regulated urbanization) for which the study was conducted by OANAK (local public infrastructure service) in December 2008.
We keep thinking that if the new term has not been added we might have had our lands built today. Αs you can see, when we took over, by your command, all processes started from scratch, because PERPO cancelled all previous approvals for Cooperatives’ licenses. Having said that, we hope that you are still as persistent to complete your dream as we are. We don’t hide that the way is quite difficult, but we will try with all our forces to reach our goal.

You are invited to attend the Ordinary General Assembly held at the Conference Center, Pancretan Cooperative Bank located at 5, Ikarou Avenue, on Monday 7th December 2009, at 16:00.
Given that the attendance of at least three fourths (¾) of the total Co-operative members is required for the General Assembly to be legally constituted and given the fact that this attendance number is difficult to be achieved on the above mentioned date, the General Assembly will finally be held the following Monday on 14/12/2009 , at the same place and at the same time. Then the Assembly will commence its work compulsorily regardless of the number of the members that will be attending (article 20 of the Charter).
Everyone’s attendance on the 14th December is compulsory.
AGENDA ITEM
1. Modification of Article 22 of our Charter.
On 24/11/2008 a letter was sent to the legal department of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works. With this letter we requested upon the required procedures in order to modify the Article 22 of our Charter so that each member could represent a specific number of members (1 or 2 and not more as it is the case so far). In March 2009 the relevant document was received and it was stated that according to the Presidential Decree Number 93/87, paragraph 8, article 5, a General Assembly should be held and absolute majority, i.e. 50 + 1 of the members registered, is required.
Given this, we kindly request all of you to attend this General Assembly. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that in case the number of members in favour of the modification of the above mentioned article does not exceed 319 members (50 +1), the modification will not be possible.
